Looking for an original idea for Valentine's Day or any other special occasion? Paper fortune cookies are perfect for slipping in sweet words, funny messages or little invitations. Whether for a lover, friends or children, this DIY is simple and customizable. Here's how to make them!
Necessary material
- A sheet of paper (I chose a color reminiscent of real fortune cookies, like beige or kraft, but any paper will do)
- A pair of scissors
- Strips of paper (approximately 1 x 7 cm) to write your little messages
Steps of implementation
- Preparing the circles Cut out circles from your paper, about 8 cm in diameter. You can use a template for more precision.
- Adding Messages Write your personalized messages on the prepared strips of paper. These can be sweet nothings, declarations, or even little riddles. Slide each message into the center of a circle.
- Folding fortune cookies Click here to follow the steps shown in the video. Fold the circle and give it its iconic fortune cookie shape. With a little practice, you will be an expert!
- Presentation Once your fortune cookies are ready, place them in a pretty box, a transparent bag or directly on a beautiful table for a “wow” effect. You can also place them in a handmade packaging – I am preparing a next article with a video to show you how to do it
Ideas to personalize your fortune cookies
- Colors and Patterns : Match the paper to the occasion, with pastel colors for a wedding, bright tones for a birthday party, or heart patterns for Valentine's Day
- Themed Messages : Include inspiring quotes, fun challenges, or shared memories to make your fortune cookies even more special.
- Decorations : Add a ribbon, sticker or decorative element to your packaging for a unique touch.
